Interested in working alongside the business leaders of tomorrow and helping to shape the early career of one of our talented students or graduates?
Anglia Ruskin University is delighted to be able to offer occupants and associates of Arise the opportunity to recruit a Summer Research Intern on a fully funded basis for up to 8 weeks (full time) to work on a real-life business research project. Through the Summer Research Internship Programme, businesses can work alongside an ARU student or recent graduate, supported by an appropriate academic, on a short research project to help the growth and development of their company.
Projects can vary depending on the business and the faculty from which the student will be chosen, and they may include research activities such as researching new methods for undertaking an innovative activity within the company and recommending various options; identifying a new market for new/existing products; researching and developing a funding bid for the development of a new product; market research around competitors and differentiating the company from their rivals; or researching and developing the company’s online and social media strategy.
The programme also offers invaluable experience to our students and recent graduates who can gain opportunities to work alongside a commercial business in an industry or organisation that they want experience in, thus enhancing their employability and confidence levels.
The Research Interns are paid directly by the university, so businesses are not required to administer payroll for the placements. Additional costs such as work-related travel or expenses are the responsibility of the business. These research projects will be based at the business premises and with the agreement of the university and business can run during either of the following dates
Semester Programme: part-time, from April to July 2020, 4 months with circa 2/3 days per week.
Summer Programme: full-time, from June to July 2020, 2 months/8 weeks.
To be eligible for these the intern must be a current full-time ARU student at ARU or have graduated from ARU in the past 2 years. They should be a UK/EU National and not been awarded a bursary funded research position previously.
